summer 2011... and fall 2011.....

Wow! I am not very good at keeping up with this blog. It has been 7 months since I last posted! Baby KyLin is 7 months old and doing so good. So far, her heart repair is doing really well, and she is thriving like a baby girl should!

So this summer went by super fast! We had a great summer and have been super busy. Let me try to re-cap some of what we have done......

Well, life changed dramatically when baby KyLin was born. Not only were we in the hospital for a while, but when we came home, it was the adjustment of 3 kids! If I only knew........ Some people say that 3 is easier than 2. Well, I disagree. Three kids has been rough! Somedays it's not a matter of how much I can get done, but how much sanity I can retain until the end of the day!

Anyway, Jade and Lane were happy to have their baby sister home. They sure do love her....

And even with all the malling KyLin takes from Jade and Lane, she loves them too......

Jade has been such a big helper. She loves to take care of KyLin so that I can get stuff done. I walked into the living room one day and saw this happening.....

Such a good sister. She actually did a pretty good job. Lane is a typical male, not to worried about changing diapers..

However, he is a protective big brother, and doesn't let to many people get very close to "his KyLin." Although he can't pronounce his K's or L's very well, so it comes out "my Yi-Yin".

So this summer was J.D.'s ten year class reunion!!! He felt old. Time sure has flown.... It was fun for J.D. (and me too!) to see his old class mates and catch up with people. I wish I had some pictures to show, but I didn't take any. Jade got to ride with her dad on his class float and throw candy. She thought she was pretty hot stuff.

We got to stand on the road and catch candy....

This summer was our Amy-O'maley family reunion. I decided to go at the VERY last minute and was sooo grateful that I did. My mom, Brooke, Grandma Afton, Loretta, Lexie, Addie, Tena, Delwin, Nena, James, Charlie, Harlie, Jade, Lane, KyLin and myself all crowded into two vans and drove to northern Idaho. Phew, what a trip...

Casey Amy and family did such a good job of putting on the reunion. We all had so much fun..

We (mostly the kids) swam a lot

We played and visited a lot..

I got to go to 2 (!!!!) concerts this summer. J.D. and I got to see Josh Turner for the second time in concert. I told J.D. that he is my boyfriend and J.D. said if I got close enough to slap his butt to just go right ahead..... I never got that close....darn.

Brooke and I got to go to a Taylor Swift concert in Salt Lake City. Before going, I thought she was ugly and didn't really like her, but afterward, she is like my new favorite singer..... well, close. Josh Turner is still my boyfriend.. She put on an AMAZING concert, and it was soo much fun!

J.D. and I coached Jade's soccer team this fall, and really had a lot of fun. Jade was a pretty good little player, and had fun as well! We didn't know a lot about soccer starting out, but we sure learned a lot as we coached those 4 year olds!

We have been working really hard this fall getting enough firewood to last us through the winter. Thanks to our new wood stove, we hopefully won't burn as much as we did last year...

Jade and Lane spent a little time finding worms...

J.D. decided Jade and Lane are old enough to help, so he cut a lot of little pieces for them to carry and load. We worked thier little butts off.

I was grateful KyLin could do a lot of this..........

So I could do a lot of this.......

It wasn't all work and no play, though. We built a fire and roasted marshmallows. The kids thought that was pretty awesome.

My last big accomplishment for the summer was to run a half marathon! I have wanted to do it forever, and I finally did it! It took a lot of time to prepare, but it was totally worth it. I ran the Zietgeist Half Marathon in Boise with my aunt Loretta. It was pretty steep! But phew, I made it. I was able to run all but about 20 yards of the 13.2 miles. It took me exactly 2 hrs. 35 min. My goal was under 2 hrs. 30 min. So, I have some room to improve for next time.....
