This post is going to be super random, but I finally found a computer so I decided to download as many pictures as possible and make a post out of it! Most of the pictures are fun things we have done this summer.
So here goes....
So for the past three years, Rebekah has been able to come stay a week at our house. My kids LOVE having her come, especially Jade. It's too bad that we don't live closer because Jade and Rebekah are such good friends, and they have so much fun with each other. This summer they spent most of their times riding our miniature horses, Griz and Sugar.
In KyLin's words "this is Grizzly Bear".
J.D. thought it would be a fun to "swim" the horses in his pond he made for the kids to play in. I didn't think it was such a great idea, but the little horses actually did pretty good, and Jade and Rebekah thought it was the greatest thing ever. Oh, the memories they are making....
Love me some KyLin smiles.....
So here we are at the park. The girls (Jade and Rebekah) thought it would be fun to have a lemonade stand. So we made some homemade lemonade and cookies, packed up and went to the greenbelt to sell some lemonade and cookies. You can see what they spent most of their time doing..... chasing geese (:
They actually made $13 selling lemonade. (I won't mention how much of that was from J.D. and a couple of his co-workers he brought over on their lunch break).
More playing in the pond. Thank goodness since it has been in the 90s a lot this summer.
This has been a summer of family reunions. In the space of about 2 weeks we saw every side of both our families.
On the 4th of July there was a Southwick family picnic. I made this awesome fruit pizza. Yep, I was pretty proud of myself....
Ha, ha, ha, ha!!! Like grandpa, like granddaughter!
I'm not sure why J.D. has to try and ruin every picture he is in by making goofy faces
Cherries! They even brought these home and grandpa Marc made awesome yummy cherry pies out of them. Funny story: I took one to the Amy family reunion auction and it sold for $30!
On the 5th of July we went to a Twitchell family reunion in Shelley.
We left the Twitchell reunion and headed to the Amy/ O'Maley family reunion. We took Melinda's kids with us.
J.D. got mad at them for being so loud in the van, so they all went to sleep. Ha, ha
And that is the end of the Amy/O'Maley family reunion pictures. Sorry. I really wish I had more because it was soooo much fun. But I was so busy playing volleyball, chasing kids, and enjoying visiting that I didn't take a single picture! I did get a little on video.
On our way home from the Amy reunion we stopped at grandpa Jake's and went fishing. With the help of uncle Mike, KyLin caught her very first fish! All by herself! Story goes she would reel the fish in, then push the button to let the line out, then reel it in, push the button again, and finally reel the fish all the way in. KyLin was so proud!
A few days later I traveled to Twin with children and parents to go through the temple with Jeri Twitchell. She got her endowments out in preparation to go on a mission to Texas. We are so proud of her and love her very much. Texas will be lucky to have her and I know she will bless so many lives.
Here are the babies: Lena, Hattie and Rhett
And here are the mommies: Hayley, Echo and Brooke
This year was my 10 year high school reunion!!! So crazy! Time has gone by so fast! Anyway, so we had a reunion in Arco during Atomic Days. I really enjoyed getting to see everyone who came. I wish I took more pictures, but once again, I was too busy chatting. I've heard people comment how they loved to go to reunions because they thought it was sweet revenge when certain people were struggling in their lives. But I felt very differently. I was really happy for all my classmates who were doing well, and I was sad for those who were struggling. I realized how much I cared about all those people, even the ones I didn't know very well or didn't necessarily like in high school. They have a volleyball tournament during Atomic Days every year and we put together a class of '03 team. It consisted of myself, Rachel Pyron, Sylvia Martinez, Brody Haralson, Robby Beard, Casi Wood, and Marcus Boyer. I also ran in the 5K along with others in my class. We also had a few dinners and sat on a float in the parade. I enjoyed it all, and loved getting to spend time with those classmates for a few days again. Below is Jade interacting with the Princesses who showed up to Atomic Days, just for her she was sure (:
Preston, Sierra, and Katana got to stay the night with us. We loved having them, and miss seeing them so much. KyLin LOVES Katana, and talks about her all the time.
J.D. and I got to celebrate our 8th wedding anniversary on July 22. And we are still in LOVE. yeah!
We sent the kids away (all but the nursing baby) and got to have a few days to ourselves. We went to dinner, a Jerico Road concert, and a plane ride! It was great. I love and appreciate my husband so much. He is the best and I am grateful I married him.
Whew! And that's the end of this super long disorganized post.
