Trip to Salt Lake

It was time for us to take KyLin to Primary Children's Medical Center in Salt Lake City to get a good look at her heart. They wanted to do an MRI and echocardiogram.  So we decided to take all the kids and four days and go on a little family vacation.....

So J.D. and I both respect and think PCMC is a great hospital,  but just walking in the front doors gave us so much anxiety. J.D. originally planned to take the other kids on a train ride while KyLin had her tests done, but once we got there, he just couldn't leave KyLin.  So him,  Jade, Lane and Hattie basically sat in the waiting room for 4 hours.
Anyway KyLin did such a good job. She was so brave the whole time and never even flinched when they put the IV in her arm. She said, "me tough girl."

The tests came back saying there is moderate closing of the ventricle, and the left side of her heart is slightly enlarged, but other than that the right side is working perfectly, and the artery is working perfectly. Therefore we don't have to have another appointment for a whole year. Yay! What a blessing,  surgery is not in our near future!!

The rest of our vacation was spent swimming at our hotel room, visiting Cabelas, and hiking. We hiked up to Timpanogos cave. It was a pretty big hike, three and a half miles round trip and very steep. I carried KyLin most of the way, but for as much as she walked we should have saved money on the doctor and watched her hike. We figured her heart was fine, the tough little stinker. The cave was way cool, Jade and Lane really eenjoyed it.
On the way down, KyLin finally
had enough...

About to go in
cave....

Little stinker had to
walk "by myself!"
I packed KyLin up the mountain, J.D.
packed Hattie (in case he had to
pack Lane too, but he didnt need
to), so then on the way down J.D. says "wow, KyLin is pretty heavy."
I said "yeah, tell me about it!"
The next day i was sooo sore,
and J.D. made fun of me because
of course he wasn't sore!!

She was cute though, she would start puffing and breathing hard while I was
packing her!
